Born in the 1980s

Founded as MidlandHR during the mainframe computing era of 1984, MHR has grown since those early days.

Today we're powered by a world-class team of over 650 people, working across three UK locations, Ireland and internationally.

MHR software & services

When you’re handing over your payroll you need to be confident in the company that is processing it for you. MHR’s Payroll Quality Partnership accreditation from the CIPP and BACS and HMRC approval gives you just that plus an accurate and efficient payroll. While quality  partnerships with organisations like Microsoft means that you are assured of MHR’s expertise.

MHR has over 1,000 customers in the UK and Ireland covering a wide range of industries. Each month we pay 2.2m workers in the UK, or 6.5% of the total workforce.

That includes over 30% of UK police staff in half of the UK’s police forces, over 20% of the UK fire and rescue personnel and employees in 4 of the 5 biggest UK construction firms.

We have over 30 years’ experience in the HR and payroll industry developing a unique combination of software and services.

Research and development is important to us which is why we invest up to 20% of our turnover in research and development. While our £10m building expansion project includes a brand new state-of-the-art data centre to keep customer data safe and secure.

We currently operate from our UK headquarters in Nottingham, England and our overseas Irish office in Dublin, Ireland.
