HACK24 2018

10/03/2018 - 11/03/2018

MHR Headline Sponsor for HACK24

For the fourth year running, MHR is proud to be a sponsor of HACK24; a Nottingham based coding competition, hosted by Tech Nottingham.

Based in the city centre on the 10th and 11th March, the event encourages attendees to complete set challenges through building code, within a 24-hour time limit. Hosted at the Nottingham Council House, HACK24 attracts members of the tech community from across the country.

Introducing MHR’s Challenge for 2018:

MHR Easter Egg Hunt

At MHR we’re all about making life better for everyone: our goal is to make work fun, can you help us in our mission?

Your challenge, should you accept it, is to create an Easter egg* to make users egg-static!

We’ll mark your challenge in the following ways:

  • How clever / fun discovering the Easter egg is
  • How fun it is
  • How well executed it is
  • We’ll give bonus points if you can make your Easter egg vaguely related to our business domain of HR, Talent & Payroll.

We’re really open to seeing what amazing Easter eggs you can create, but if you are struggling for ideas, here are some we came up with to get you started:

  • Why not play Org Chart Asteroids?
  • Go fishing for a candidate in a recruitment campaign
  • Play Tetris with meetings in a calendar
  • Play lemmings in a crypto currency tracker graph

We’re not yolking with these prizes - this year we’ve gone above and beyond with members of the winning team each receiving a market leading, DJI Spark Fly More Drone!

We appreciate that you probably don’t know much about HR / Talent management software, so look out for us, we’ll be the ones in the grey MHR branded t-shirts.

You are free to build your Easter egg in any software, but we’ll provide a Git repository with a sample HR application for you to use as a springboard.

*An Easter egg is an intentional inside joke, hidden message or image, or secret feature of a work. The name is used to evoke the idea of a traditional Easter egg hunt. Wikipedia
