GDPR COMPLIANCE ADVICE & TOOLS
Now that GDPR is here, it's time to review how your data protection processes should have changed to ensure you're compliant.
MHR are here to help debunk myths and provide you with the information and tools to help you with data protection.
WHAT IS GDPR?
The GDPR replaces the EU’s 1995 Data Protection Directive (enacted in the UK through the 1998 Data Protection Act) and represents the biggest change in data protection legislation in over two decades.
The new regulation harmonises data protection laws across Europe, strengthening rights for individuals while increasing companies’ obligations.
The changes impact business functions that deal with large amounts of sensitive and personally identifiable information such as HR and Payroll departments.
GDPR - What do HR Professionals Need To Know
Here are some of the key GDPR issues for HR professionals and some tips on how to review your processes ensuring you've done everything you need to be compliant.
What were the key GDPR changes?
If you're looking for more information on GDPR, read our blog that breaks down the key changes, what they mean and what you should have prepared.
iTRENT GDPR COMPLIANCE
We have invested a significant amount of time understanding what the new law brings, how it affects the way we work, and ultimately what our customers need to do.
As a result, we have enhanced our iTrent software and processes over the last year to provide extra functionality that will enable you to carry out GDPR related tasks quickly and easily.
TOOLS & TRAINING TO HELP WITH GDPR COMPLIANCE
We understand that GDPR can be seen as a daunting task with many 'grey areas'.
However, we've worked with data protection experts and the ICO to shed light on what needs to be done so that you're compliant with the new law.
In addition to developing our iTrent software, we've created an online GDPR Staff Awareness training course and can provide a tool to help you find data that's stored deep within your online file systems.
ONLINE CPD ACCREDITED GDPR COURSE
To help your employees get up to speed with GDPR, we are now offering a CPD accredited staff awareness e-learning course.
The course includes a final test to demonstrate course understanding and completion - vital evidence for compliance.
DATA SCANNING TOOL
TermSet ScanR is a tool to quickly scan your file storage systems (including cloud storage) for sensitive and personally identifiable information.
ScanR provides a full breakdown of where your data is stored based on your search query.
You can then reorganise or delete if required.
WHERE ARE YOU ON YOUR DATA JOURNEY?
Here at MHR we have compiled a handy GDPR self-assessment form to help you understand where you are in your compliance journey, and what steps you need to take (if you haven't already) to meet the requirements.
